The Paddocks is turning into Frankfort’s newest restaurant row
For a long time, “going out to eat on 127” meant the same handful of places. This fall the list got longer, fast. Most of the new spots are at The Paddocks of Frankfort, the $150 million development on U.S. 127 South near I-64 Exit 53, where Target opened as the first store on July 21.
Open now
- Chipotle Mexican Grill, 100 DG Parsons Drive. The first restaurant in The Paddocks, it opened Monday, Aug. 10. It has a “Chipotlane” drive-thru for app orders. Open daily, 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- McAlister’s Deli, 2500 Vandalay Drive. Opened with a ribbon cutting Monday, Oct. 12. Sandwiches, spuds, salads and that sweet tea, with outdoor seating and a pickup window. Open daily, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Dave’s Hot Chicken, 2500 Vandalay Drive, Suite 105. Opened Friday, Oct. 16, in the same center as McAlister’s, next to Target. The Herald-Leader says both are owned by the same local operator, Charles Corley. Sliders and tenders at your choice of heat. Open daily, 11 a.m. to around 11 p.m.
- Jaggers, 1299 U.S. 127 South. Not in The Paddocks itself, but on the same stretch of road. The burger and chicken-tender chain from Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor opened Monday, Oct. 19, its first in Frankfort, and hired 101 people. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Still on the way
In May, developer Jason Taylor of Equity-Management Group said a Swig drink shop (the Utah “dirty soda” chain), a second Frankfort Zaxby’s and a Chase Bank had signed on, and that three more groups were close. Earlier announcements for The Paddocks include Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Long John Silvers, Panda Express, a Wawa and Express Oil Change. We haven’t seen opening dates for any of those yet. BJ’s Wholesale Club is due to open this fall, and its membership center at 1303 U.S. 127 South, Suite 108, is already open.
We’ll add each one to Open & Shut once it has a real opening date.
